Who doesn’t love Crazy Hair Day!?
While I love spirit week at school, I am often challenged by all of the things I have to remember for it! “Mom! I think tomorrow is blue day, or maybe it’s crazy sock day. But don’t forget to do crazy sock day, we have to bring new socks, can I pick them out? Please!?”
Ugh! 55 more things that I have to do! This also presents another problem, crazy hair day…I made the mistake of making last years crazy hair really good…what was I thinking? Now, according to my oldest, I must top last years hair, and come up with something better. She actually said to me, “you know mom, everyone really loved the cupcake hair from last year, what are you going to do this year? I hope it’s good!”
Pinterest I go, in search of awesome crazy hair. I had some ideas of my own however 6 year old’s have ideas of there own and she hated all of them. “Can’t it be crazy and cute?”
Okie dookie…around Christmas I came across the adorable reindeer hair made out of a bun, so cute! Well, it’s not Christmas, and I don’t think she would go for a reindeer, insert “operation cat hair.”
This one loves cats, everything cats, so naturally this was an easy choice. Off to Michael’s I went. (BTW, I really didn’t want any style that involved hair color of any kind!)
Here is what you need to create this VERY EASY look.
- Pipe cleaners
- Cat or any other animal ears
- Large “googly eyes”
- Bobby pins
- Hot glue gun
First, hot glue eyes to the back of a bobby pin. let dry. Then fold a two pipe cleaners in half to make the “whiskers”. Next, twist a pipe cleaner into a swirl, then fold the last part over so that you can stick it into the middle of the bun creating the nose.
Then all you have to do is create the bun and insert the eyes, whiskers and nose. (just slide the “whisker” pipe cleaners under the sides of the bun) That’s it! The actual hair do only took about 5 minutes! I gathered my supplies the night before.
She loved her crazy cat hair!
